Synopsis

An extended family sick of the city life leave to start a lodging cabin in the mountains for passing hikers.  Disappointed to begin with due to the extreme lack of business they finally receive their first customer who orders a room and three beers.  Left to his own devices the lodger sharpens his key to a point and stabs himself to death.

The father believing that no one would consider this a suicide and no person would want to stay in the house where someone dies, buries the body.  Soon more customers arrive and one by one they all die of accidently deaths leading to more bodies being buried in the garden.  The family brings to crack under the increasing misfortunes happening to them and trying to keep the bodies from being discovered.

This is the first film in the Korean Film Nights Choi Min-shik season from Oldboy fame.  The actor is  predominantly known in the UK for Oldboy and the reason behind this mini retrospective is to highlight some of the other excellent works the actor has produced over the years including The Quiet Family, Happy Ending and Crying Fist.

This will take us up to the end of the year of free film screenings but keep your eyes peeled for the next six months of programming which will be announced soon.

Contains scenes of a violent, but comedic, nature.

Booking is required, please RSVP to info@kccuk.org.uk or call 020 7004 2600
Admission is free.
